The Radio PR Experts
Radio Relations are the UK's leading Radio PR specialist because securing fantastic radio coverage is the only thing we specialise in. We have the edge when it comes to securing first class radio coverage thanks to our areas of expertise:
Industry Knowledge
The radio industry has changed beyond recognition over the last fifteen years. Major groups such as Capital, GWR and EMAP and GMG no longer exist and local independent radio stations have transformed into national brands such as Heart. There are more community stations, the BBC has fewer resources and tighter editorial guidelines, and the larger commercial stations are networking more than ever. Additionally because OfCom have relaxed several rules, many regional stations are not even broadcasting from the same area as their audience. As a radio PR specialist we know how to exploit these changes to benefit our clients.

Relationships
Who you need to influence depends on the station, campaign objectives, and content on offer. In commercial radio you mainly need to speak to newsrooms for spokespeople-led coverage, and presenters for features and product content. In BBC radio it's the producers and presenters themselves, whereas community stations it's often the presenters or station managers. There are more than 500 radio stations across the UK, each with its own format and target audience. We can help you make sure your message goes out to the right people.

Content Needs
The type of content that stations want and need is always changing. Commercial stations have shorter and less frequent bulletins and rarely interview guests. A large commercial station may have fewer than 15 minutes of news output per day, so only the best content will make the cut. Local and community stations are often under-resourced and desperately need relevant content. As radio PR specialists, we have people that understand radio content tailoring that content to reflect your messages. We have built relationships over the years to maximise coverage. Since we are partnered with IMN, a content provider to the radio industry, we are well placed to create radio friendly content and leverage those industry relationships to ensure success.

Technical Competence
A simple, effective way of securing radio coverage is through radio interviews (sometimes known as a radio day). While some stations will take an interview over the phone, BBC and Commercial stations generally require studio quality audio. We encourage clients that are serious about radio to invest in an ISDN studio. We insist on any radio interviews that we organise to either take place from one of our ISDN studios or from their own office if they have the right equipment (that we can install).

Tracking & Evaluation
Radio is often overlooked as a viable method of PR because as a real time medium it is far more difficult to track and evaluate. We have a bespoke system, honed over 13 years, that enables us to build comprehensive accurate coverage reports for each campaign, covering everything from audience reach to rate card equivalent, regional analysis and even the coverage secured at prime times of the day such as breakfast and drive time. Once our clients compare the audience reach and value to other PR methods, they come back to radio wanting to do broadcast campaigns on a regular basis.
